The qPCR ToCV set has been developed and optimized by Qualiplante based on Morris et al., 2006. A verification was performed by Qualiplante (data not published) and the performance characteristics of the set are the same as the original publication.
Primers and probe have been derived from the HSP70 gene located on RNA2 of ToCV. The test of Morris et al., 2011 was evaluated in the framework of the ARNADIA project with the following performances:

- Reproducibility: 99%,
- Diagnostic sensitivity: 100%,
- Diagnostic specificity: 100%,
- Relative accuracy: 100%,
- Analytical sensitivity: 10-2.
The One-Step Real-Time RT-PCR test of Tiberini et al. 2011 is recommended by Progetto Aron-Arnadia – Protocollo per test diagnostici Tomato infectious chlorosis virus and Tomato chlorosis virus.
